The flip spout pours straight into a glass, and the wide 5.4cm mouth means you can drop in ice, lemon slices or mint, mix up juice concentrate and clean it out properly afterwards. The clear body shows exactly how much is left, and the curved, ridged side gives a secure grip when it is full and cold. For a Nairobi household that boils and cools drinking water every evening, it is a neat replacement for reused soda bottles and open jugs that pick up fridge smells. Fill it at night, chill it, and the whole family has cold water or homemade juice ready on hot afternoons, school days and weekend lunches.

Specifications

Capacity

2 litres

Cap

Leak-proof screw cap with flip pouring spout

Mouth width

5.4cm wide opening

Body

Clear, with ridged grip area

Colour

Clear with white cap

Best for

Cold water, juice and milk in the fridge

Buying guide

Check your fridge door shelf height before buying a 2L bottle; if it will not stand there, it can lie on a shelf thanks to the leak-proof cap, just make sure the cap is screwed on fully. Use it for cold drinks rather than freshly boiled water: let boiled water cool to room temperature before filling. Rinse after every use and wash weekly with warm soapy water and a bottle brush through the wide mouth, especially after milk or juice. Dry it upside down with the cap off to stop smells. If you make juice regularly, keep one bottle for water and one for juice so flavours never mix.

How it compares

Compared with reusing soda or water bottles, this has a proper pouring spout, a wide mouth you can actually clean and a cap made to seal. Compared with an open glass jug, it can be stacked, laid down and carried without spilling and keeps fridge odours out. A glass carafe looks smarter on the table but is heavier and breakable.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the bottle hold?
It holds 2 litres, enough for a family's cold water or a full batch of juice.

Will it leak if I lay it down in the fridge?
The cap is described as leak-proof, so it can lie on a shelf once screwed on firmly and the flip spout is closed.

Can I put hot water in it?
It is designed for cold drinks like water, juice and milk.
