3-piece-bamboo-serving-tray-set-with-gold-handles
3 Piece Bamboo Serving Tray Set with Gold Handles

The gold handles are what lift these above utility trays. Bamboo alone is practical and warm; bamboo with a metallic handle reads as a serving piece you would carry in front of guests, which is exactly when a tray gets seen. Three sizes mean there is always the right one to hand — the large for a full drinks round or breakfast, the middle for a coffee service or a cheese board, the small for a side table or a dressing table. Handles also matter practically: a loaded tray is much easier to carry and set down level when there is something to grip. Bamboo is light, strong and looks good enough to leave out on display between uses.

Specifications

Pieces

3 trays in graduated sizes

Material

Bamboo

Handles

Gold

Use

Serving, presentation, decorative display

Buying guide

Load a tray with the heaviest items towards the centre so it balances when carried, and keep it level when setting it down — most spills happen on the last few centimetres. Bamboo should be wiped rather than soaked and never put in a dishwasher, since prolonged moisture causes splitting along the grain. Oil it lightly once or twice a year to keep it from drying out in a hot kitchen. Clean the gold handles with a dry cloth only, since polish and sprays strip decorative finishes. The trays nest for storage.

How it compares

Against handle-less trays, gold handles make a loaded tray far easier to carry and set down. Against metal trays, bamboo is lighter and warmer in appearance. For a wet bar or outdoor use, a sealed or metal tray copes better with moisture.

Frequently asked questions

Can they go in the dishwasher?
No. Wipe bamboo and dry it immediately - dishwasher heat and prolonged moisture cause splitting along the grain.

How do I clean the gold handles?
A dry cloth only.
