The waterproof PU-coated surface stops liquid from soaking in, so any mess is simply wiped off with a damp cloth rather than ruining the foam. Full enclosure also shields the mattress from dust, making it a practical choice for children's beds, potty training, elderly or bedridden family members, boarding schools, hospitals and guesthouses. It comes in 3x6, 4x6 and 5x6 sizes to fit the most common Kenyan mattresses. Put your usual bedsheet over it and the bed looks and feels normal, while the mattress underneath stays protected and hygienic. For parents and carers, it brings peace of mind: one small purchase that can add years to an expensive mattress.

Specifications

Type

All-round mackintosh mattress cover

Waterproof

100% waterproof PU-coated surface

Closure

Zipper all round

Colour

Blue (as shown)

Use

Homes, children's beds, elderly care, hospitals, boarding schools

Available sizes

5×6, 4×6, 3×6, % Waterproof Matress Protector

Buying guide

Measure the mattress width, length and thickness before ordering, and pick 3x6, 4x6 or 5x6 to match. A snug fit matters with a zip cover, so choose the size that matches the mattress, not a larger one. Fit it with the zip open on three sides, slide the mattress in, then close. Clean the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid bleach, hot irons and sharp objects that could puncture the coating. Because PU does not breathe like fabric, always use a cotton bedsheet on top for comfort, especially in hot weather.

How it compares

Compared with a fitted waterproof protector, a zip-around mackintosh covers the whole mattress, including the sides and base, so it offers more complete protection against leaks. Compared with a fabric quilted protector, it feels firmer and less soft, so it is best paired with a good bedsheet for everyday comfort.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cover the whole mattress?
Yes.
