Buying guide
Level the appliance first, then fit the pads — vibration is usually a symptom of an unlevel machine, and pads soften the result rather than curing the cause. Use a spirit level across the top in both directions and adjust the feet before sliding pads underneath. Position one pad per foot and make sure the whole foot sits inside the pad, not on its edge. Check them after a few weeks; a pad that has crept out of place does nothing. On a very uneven floor, pads plus levelling feet together will help more than either alone. They also reduce the rumble transmitted through a slab in an apartment block, which is often the main complaint.
How it compares
Against a rubber mat under the whole machine, individual pads target each foot and are easier to fit under a heavy appliance. Against doing nothing, the difference on tile is immediate. If a machine still moves after levelling and fitting pads, the drum bearings or transit bolts are the more likely culprit.

6. Damaged in Transit
