A striped cotton duvet cover set sized for the 7x8 bed. Stripes suit a large bed better than most patterns: they run with the length of the bed and make a very wide mattress look intentional rather than simply big. Cotton keeps the whole thing breathable, which matters when the bedding covers this much surface.

Buying guide
Lay the stripe lengthways down the bed rather than across it — that is how the pattern is meant to sit, and it makes the bed look longer and tidier. Wash cool and shade dry to keep the stripe crisp. On an extra-large bed, a second set in rotation is close to essential, since laundering takes most of a day.
How it compares
Against a plain cover, stripes hide creasing and give a large bed structure. Against a bold print, a woven stripe will not date. Against microfibre, cotton breathes better under heavy bedding, which matters on a big bed with more fabric over you.
