No socket nearby? No problem. These battery-powered Christmas lights let you add sparkle anywhere: a wreath on the gate, a centrepiece on the dining table, a tree in the corner far from the plug, or the car boot for a surprise.
The 6 metre string glows in cheerful multicoloured light, the classic festive look kids love. They are made for indoor and outdoor use, so you can move them from the living room to the balcony whenever you like. Because there is no cable to the wall, they are also a smart choice during power cuts or for decorating rental flats without extension leads.

Buying guide
Choose battery lights where there is no socket, such as wreaths, gates, centrepieces and jars. For mains-powered long runs, see our 30m outdoor lights. Insert fresh batteries before big events and keep spares handy. Shelter the battery box outdoors. Remove batteries before storing so they do not leak. Wrap them through a glass vase or lantern for an easy centrepiece glow.
How it compares
Plug-in lights tie you to a socket and leave cables trailing across the floor. A battery-powered string goes anywhere, keeps working during a blackout, and is safer around children and pets with no wall cable. The multicoloured glow also has that nostalgic, childhood-Christmas feel that single-colour strings lack.
