Boho decorative throw pillow covers — the easiest change you can make to a living room. Swap covers on the cushions you already own and the whole sofa reads differently, for a fraction of what new cushions cost and with none of the storage problem, since covers fold flat in a drawer between seasons.

Buying guide
Match the cover size to your insert: a cover the same size as the insert looks plump, and a cover larger than the insert sags immediately. Group two or three rather than lining up four identical cushions, which looks like a showroom. Wash covers with like colours the first time, since boho patterns often use several dyes.
How it compares
Against buying whole cushions, covers cost less, store flat and let you change a room seasonally. Against plain covers, boho patterns bring character to a neutral sofa. Against velvet or knit, printed boho covers are the easiest to launder.
