A folding outdoor chair with a heavy-duty steel frame and Oxford cloth seating. Steel rather than aluminium is the choice here: heavier to carry, considerably stronger under load, and it does not flex or creak when a larger adult sits back. If previous camp chairs have failed on you, this is the specification that fixes it.

Buying guide
Accept the weight as the price of strength — a steel-framed chair is noticeably heavier than an aluminium one, which is exactly why it lasts. Keep the frame dry and wipe it after rain, since steel will eventually mark where the coating chips. Fold it dry so the Oxford cloth does not sit damp.
How it compares
Against a lightweight aluminium chair, this takes far more load and weighs more to carry. Against a plastic chair, it folds away. Against a reclining chair, it is upright seating for a table rather than lounging.
Frequently asked questions
Is it strong enough for a larger adult?
That is the reason for the steel frame — it takes considerably more load than lightweight aluminium chairs.
Is it heavy?
Heavier than an aluminium chair, which is the trade-off for the strength.
Will the frame rust?
Keep it dry and wipe it after rain. Steel frames mark where the coating chips, so storing it under cover matters.
