Measure the hallway and subtract: a runner should leave roughly 10–20cm of floor visible on each side and stop short of doorways rather than running under them. That gap is what makes a runner look fitted rather than wedged. For a 3m hallway choose the 300cm; where the corridor runs longer, the 400cm avoids the awkward look of a runner that stops halfway. Always use a non-slip pad underneath in a corridor — this is the one place where a sliding rug is genuinely dangerous.
