This push-down vegetable dicer turns onions, potatoes, carrots and cucumbers into even cubes or sticks with one firm press. Place a slice of vegetable on the grid blade, press the cup down and the pieces fall neatly into the container below, ready for the pot.
It is a practical helper for busy kitchens that make kachumbari, stews, soups and homemade chips several times a week. The green and white body comes apart into the cup, blade frame and pusher, so it is easy to rinse. At roughly 15 cm across the top and 10 cm tall, it stores easily on a shelf.

Buying guide
Cut vegetables into slices about the thickness of the grid before pressing, and place them flat on the blade so they cut evenly. Very hard vegetables such as raw carrots or butternut are easier if sliced thinner. After use, take the parts apart and use the pusher side or a small brush to clear any pieces caught in the grid; avoid using your fingers on the blade. Rinse under running water straight away so starch and onion juice do not dry on, then let it air dry before reassembling.
How it compares
Dicing by knife gives uneven pieces and takes much longer, especially for a big pot of stew or a tray of chips. A full mandoline slicer offers more cuts but is bulkier and harder to clean safely. This dicer does one job well, quick even cubes and sticks, with the blade kept away from your hands.
