A rechargeable dimmable lamp with an 800mAh battery, equally at home in a tent and on a kitchen counter during a blackout. Dimming is what makes one lamp cover both jobs: bright enough to work by, low enough to leave on all night beside a child's bed without lighting the whole room.

| Use | Camping, study, night light, power cuts |
| Placement | Table, tent, shelf, bedside |

| Build | Portable, durable |
Buying guide
Keep it charged and somewhere you can find in the dark — that is the difference between owning an emergency lamp and having one. Use the low setting as a night light, where it will run far longer than at full brightness. Recharge it after every outage so it is ready for the next one.
How it compares
Against a fixed-brightness lantern, dimming lets one lamp serve as work light and night light. Against candles, no flame and no wax. Against a headlamp, it lights a space rather than where you look.
