This washing machine drain tray slides under the filter outlet of a front-loading machine and catches the water, lint and hair that pour out when you clean the filter or empty the drain hose. No more towels on the floor, no more trying to hold a shallow bowl in a gap that is barely a few centimetres tall. The tray is low-profile at 4.3cm high, with a 17.8 x 16cm base and a curved lip that sits close against the machine so water lands in the tray, not on your tiles. It is a single white tray that wipes clean in seconds. It suits anyone with a front-loader in a kitchen, bathroom or small laundry space, especially in apartments where a wet floor means a slip risk. Slide it in, open the filter, let it drain, then tip and rinse.

Buying guide
Measure the clearance under your machine's filter flap; the tray is 4.3cm tall, so it suits most front-loaders that sit on the floor. A full drain can hold more water than the tray, so open the filter slowly and close it to empty the tray as needed. Tip the water into a sink or toilet, rinse out the lint, and wipe dry. Keep it next to the machine so it is ready every time you clean the filter.
How it compares
Most people use an old towel or a baking tray. A towel soaks through and needs washing, and a baking tray is often too tall to slide under the outlet. This tray is shaped for the job: low enough to fit, with a lip that guides water in.
