Philips LED Solar Streetlight 2000 Lumen BRC010 - 15.2W All-in-One with Integrated Battery, 765 Cool White — WIMU Kitchen Nairobi

Philips LED Solar Streetlig...

An all-in-one solar streetlight puts the panel, battery, LED and controller in a single housing — which means installation is a bracket and two bolts rather than a wiring job. The Philips BRC010 at 2000 lumens from 15.2W is the entry point of that range, sized for pathways, compounds, parking areas and security applications rather than public roads. Its 765 cool white output is the right colour for this job: cool light reads as brighter and renders detail more sharply than warm light, which matters when the purpose is seeing who is there and helping cameras do their work. The integrated 3.2V battery charges through the day and runs it after dark with no supply cable, no meter and no monthly bill — the reason all-in-one solar is now the default for compound lighting in Kenya.

Buying guide

Match output to the job before comparing prices. At 2000 lumens this covers a compound gateway, a short driveway, a few parking bays or a security corner — it is not a road light, and buying it for a road will disappoint. Step to the 4000-lumen BRC010 for larger areas. The specification worth understanding across solar streetlights is efficacy, meaning lumens per watt: this delivers roughly 132 lm/W, which is solid for an entry all-in-one, while the professional BRP710 and BRP715 lines reach 175 to 200 lm/W and therefore extract more light from the same battery charge. That matters if your site is cloudy for days at a time. Mounting height of 3 to 4 metres suits this output; higher and the light thins. Site it clear of tree canopy, because the panel is fixed to the housing and cannot be relocated to catch sun — the main limitation of all-in-one designs. Clean the panel annually at minimum.

How it compares

Against the 4000-lumen BRC010 models, this is half the output for a smaller area. Compared with the professional BRP710 and BRP715 lines, those are considerably more efficient per watt and built for road and institutional use at a much higher price. Against the BPC010 post-top fittings, those spread light around a pole for open areas while a streetlight throws it directionally along a path or road. Against mains streetlighting, there is no cable to trench and no bill, which is usually the entire business case.

Frequently asked questions

Is this bright enough for a road?
No — at 2000 lumens it suits a compound gateway, short driveway, parking bays or a security corner. For roads, look at the 4000-lumen BRC010 or the professional BRP715 range.

What does all-in-one mean?
The panel, battery, LED and controller are in one housing, so installation is a bracket and bolts rather than a wiring job. The trade-off is that the panel cannot be relocated to find sun.

What mounting height suits it?
Around 3 to 4 metres for this output. Mounted higher, 2000 lumens spreads too thin to be useful.
