A double-seat folding camping chair with a wooden armrest, in black or beige. Two seats on one frame is more stable than two separate chairs on soft ground, and the shared wooden armrest between them becomes the place the drinks go — which is why couples buy these for the beach, the campsite and outdoor concerts.

Buying guide
It is heavier than a single chair, so check it fits your boot alongside everything else. Open it fully until the frame locks before both people sit. On sand or soft soil, a wide double frame actually sinks less than two narrow ones, which is part of the appeal at the beach.
How it compares
Against two single chairs, a double frame is more stable, shares an armrest and takes one slot in the boot rather than two. Against a bench, it folds. Against a moon chair, it seats two rather than cradling one.
