A lightweight folding stool for camping and fishing — the seat you take when carrying a chair would be too much. It opens in a second, carries in one hand, and gets you off wet ground at a fishing spot or in a queue, which is the whole job it needs to do.

Buying guide
Check the frame is locked open each time before sitting. On soft mud or sand at a fishing spot, put a flat board under the feet so it does not sink. Keep it in the car — a compact stool gets used far more often than a chair you have to decide to bring.
How it compares
Against a camp chair, it packs far smaller and gives no back support. Against standing, it is the difference between an hour at a fishing spot and twenty minutes. Against sitting on a cooler box, it is built for weight.
